In March we successfully validated a new interface towards the UMO platform by performing a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). Our UK partner Minder Limited (trading as Mindme) has successfully developed an interface between their mobile alarm solution and UMO, which can now potentially be used by all UMO customers.
Mindme was established in 2007 and since then it has played the leading role in the development of award-winning GPS personal alarms for vulnerable people. Its founder and Chief Executive has been involved with GPS since it first became commercially available over twenty years ago.
The device incorporates GPS and uses the mobile phone network to send accurate locations to its platform and also allows two-way conversation. Mindme uses a multi-network SIM to ensure that so long as a mobile network exists the device will always stay connected.
When a user activates their alarm the device calls the response centre and the operator can then talk to them and take any appropriate action.
The interface towards the UMO includes the following functionalities:
- Alarm sending (IP) towards the monitoring center
- Position information about the location of the user
- Weblink to display the Mindme platform
